We found this fallen tree off one of the trails in our woods. We call it our special place. There are several different trails to take and explore, thanks to Josh and the man that built this home years ago.
The wagon takes us there, Mommy pulls of course, and these boys explore nature at its finest in our back yard. Frogs, mushrooms, “coconuts” (nuts or acorns), bark, bugs, animal prints, flowers, leaves and sticks- we observe, learn and collect. I can see their eyes widen as they take it all in. Deacon only has a few words in his vocabulary but his expressions are priceless. It is moments like this that make me wonder if we really will move from this house one day. Our home on the hill has its quirks for sure but it is a little boy’s paradise. We can never be bored and no matter what season, we have plenty to keep all of us busy outdoors.
This was never in my wildest dreams but now I couldn’t imagine anything more than the precious time we spend just taking walks or exploring outdoors.
