Family photos 2025

Well, getting family photos had been on my to-do list for quite some time. Although I take photos all of the time, it has been a few years for us to have a photographer take them for us. I was thrilled to be able to work with the talented Adrienne Rae based here locally in Gulf Shores. On a Tuesday evening, we had a small opening in the calendar without baseball or any other activities. I ran from teaching a sweaty HIIT class right after work, changed my outfit and we raced out the door to beat the sunset. Because why would we do anything unless it was rushed? That just wouldn’t be us! 😆

Our motivation to get the boys to cooperate so well? One and done! We told them, we can do it right the first time and it’ll be over before you know it. And sure enough, it was! I am so grateful for their smiles and dedication to get these right for their Mom. (Merry Christmas to me!) I didn’t try too hard to match outfits or make anyone wear something uncomfortable or that they hate. I was going for simple here.

It meant a lot to us to be able to take these on the beach in Gulf Shores, in our new town, a place that we love. We met at the Gulf State Park pavilion in the middle of October just before sunset. I am a big fan of sunsets now and really do try to make an effort to go outside and appreciate them as much as possible. Somehow this sunset was a bit extra with all of the colors in the sky. ❤️☀️

We haven’t mailed out Christmas cards for a couple of years, although I was a very dedicated Shutterfly fan for several years. I still haven’t decided if I will make Christmas cards again this year but either way, I’m so pleased to share these beach family photos-  moments captured by Adrienne. I’ll treasure them forever.
